Philly Kossacks: Obama Rally Tonight

While the majority of you probably already know about this, there's an Obama rally tonight on Independence Mall.
With no checks, how are there any balances?

This is going to be short. I just saw this, but I've got to head to work.
A new article on NYT.com by Adam Liptak details another example of the Bush Administration and their cronies spitting on any form of logical restraints within range.
Barack Obama: The Yardstick

(I appologize if this has already been posted. My diaries page is apparently freaking out right now. If this is up multiple times, I'll gladly delete it.)
This will be a fairly short diary, I'm afraid. I'm currently at work, and I've got a lot to do (the world isn't going to save itself, after all), but I felt this was worth putting out there to be discussed today.
I came to a rather startling realization today, one that makes me smile even as I contemplate the possibilities of a defeat of the Obama campaign either in the primaries or general election.

A Tale of Two (Potential) Executives

There’s quite a debate going on in the Democratic Party this year, over what exactly we should be looking for in our Presidential Nominee. We’ve go two excellent candidates that are, in all honesty, extremely close on the vast majority of issues that we as a party define as "ours." There are minor quibbles over mandates for health insurance, how many more months we should spend in Iraq, and a few other things, but by and large (and I know I’m going to get flamed for this) the stances put forward by Obama and Clinton are nearly identical.
What really separates the two candidates is which demographics they appeal to, and how they are presenting their message. I’m going to outline where I see the differences really lying in these two candidates, with regards to what they are presenting the American People with at present, and how they are likely to approach their time in the big chair should they get there.
More over the fold.
